About*

Hey, I'm A , Mum, Sister, Daughter, Friend, and everything and anything in-between.

For the last 6 years I have worked as a BBC Radio Producer in London, BBC Local Radio Journalist and Media Lecturer/Course Leader. I'd like you to come on this new journey with me.

At the beginning of lockdown last year I started to seriously contemplate my position within society and growing frustrations of how to simply "fit in". This derived from unpleasant encounters with fellow women; which became a growing challenge as I navigated through adult life. I began to write the Assimilation Papers. It explored all of the different ways in which women were positioned to compete with each other, underlying notions of beauty and acceptance through superficiality. I spoke about my own personal challenges of reaffirming myself juxtaposed with the prospect of toeing the line; something I have never wanted to do. It suddenly dawned on me that many women and non-binary individuals face this same challenge in different ways. What began as my slight existential crisis set me upon a journey to listen and represent women's stories.

The Assimilation Papers will be a multidisciplinary project focusing on the exploration of real stories of modern day women. First stop, an immersive podcast.
